Estrategia de adaptación al cambio
Esta propuesta está dirigida a inversionistas que estén convencidos en participar y promover la sustentabilidad del ecosistema tropical, brindando experiencias eco-turísticas especializadas y orientadas a la naturaleza, promoviendo la adaptación al cambio con estrategias y desarrollo de proyectos de permacultura, biotecnologías, manejo integral de residuos, con el propósito de sustentar la operación e instalación de eco tecnologías, que además de proveer para la operación del glamping u hospedaje, como oferta turística, se involucre tambien en programas de educación ambiental enfocados a la capacitación de técnicos y poder así, replicar el modelo de adaptación en la comunidad isleña.
Aunado a lo anterior, que reconozca y fomente el patrimonio biocultural que sitúa a la biodiversidad de Cozumel como el activo más valioso de la isla, así como, todos los vestigios arqueológicos mesoamericanos de la ínsula, particularmente el centro ceremonial ubicado en el parador turístico San Gervasio, a 2 km de la propiedad de Villa Maya.
Propuesta de Inversión
Se listan 8 Hectáreas (20 acres aprox.) de terreno que actualmente son parte de la Reserva Natural Privada de “Villa Maya“. Son dos lotes de 4 hectáreas cada uno.

El objetivo de desarrollar, si así fuese el caso, proyectos compatibles con las normas establecidas por el Ordenamiento Territorial local (POEL).

La propiedad de Villa Maya no se encuentra dentro de los poligonos de jurisdicción de las Áreas Naturales Protegidas decretadas (ANPs), tanto por el Estado de Q. Roo, como por la federación, administradas por CONANP.
La negociacion esta abierta pudiendo ser:
- (1) Adherirse y sumar a las políticas de operación y desarrollo de Villa Maya o bien que;
- (2) Se desarrolle un emprendimiento propio, para lo cual, se ofrece asesoría integral en servicios de consultoría para el acompañamiento y gestión de proyectos.
Ubicación: La reserva natural de Villa Maya se encuentra ubicada a 2 kilómetros al sureste del centro ceremonial y zona arqueológica de San Gervasio, en la Isla de Cozumel.

Informacion Complementaria:
A continuación se resumen los objetivos de Villa Maya y acciones en las que se ha enfocado a partir de 1991, fecha en la que se inicio y estableció la reserva privada.
- La conservación de los recursos naturales a traves del conocimiento y manejo de la vida silvestre; con la colaboración del personal de la reserva en proyectos de monitoreo de fauna silvestre, así como, con estudiantes de licenciatura, maestría y doctorado de diferentes universidades, quienes aportan sus conocimientos derivado del los estudios de campo e investigaciónes en la zona, Villa Maya es una estacion permanente de monoitoro y estudio de la biodiversidad e investigación en ciencias de la biología, hidrogeología, arqueología, astronomía, antropología e historia.
- Programas de Educación Ambiental, en conjunto con instituciones educativas, asociaciones civiles - ONG, clubes, y la Subdirección de Ecología del ayuntamiento se planean y desarrollan visitas y campamentos para niños, jóvenes y adultos con temas sobre la importancia de la selva y la complejidad e interrelación de las comunidades bióticas del ecosistema tropical insular.
- Turismo orientado a la naturaleza, se ofrecen experiencias y servicios para visitantes nacionales y extranjeros de baja densidad explorando la selva a través de los senderos interpretativos instalados en el bosque tropical en la reserva y zonas aledañas.
Actualmente se ofrecen servicios eco turísticos de baja densidad, abierto al público para conducir diplomados, talleres, cursos y entrenamiento personal, retiros y experiencias holísticas, incluyendo actividades para emancipar el espíritu, así como, educar en temas de sustentabilidad ambiental y fomentar la cultural ecológica de los participantes y usuarios, explorando el bosque tropical, manglares, humedales, el matorral costero, playas y arrecifes de coral.
Se promueven excursiones como el avistamiento de aves, senderismo, campismo, canotaje, ciclismo y experiencias náuticas recreativas como son el buceo libre y buceo SCUBA.
- El desarrollo de Turismo Cultural en Villa Maya, se enfoca principalmente en el concepto filosófico de las culturas mesoamericanas - Nican Axcan.

Además de visitar sitios arqueológicos alrededor de la isla y promover la práctica de tradiciones ancestrales como lo es la ceremonia del Temazcal y otras representaciones y experiencias holísticas.
- Eco Lodge Villa Maya, la reserva proporciona al viajero una alternativa en servicios de hospedaje de baja densidad con 2 cabañas remotas en la selva equipadas con cama queen size y hamaca, servicios de baños secos y regaderas, electricidad fotovoltaica y conexión WiFi.

This proposal is aimed at investors who are convinced to participate and promote the sustainability of the tropical ecosystem, providing specialized and nature-oriented eco-tourism experiences, promoting adaptation to change with strategies and development of permaculture projects, biotechnologies, integrated waste management, with the purpose of supporting the operation and installation of eco-technologies, which in addition to providing for the operation of glamping or lodging, as a tourist offer, also get involved in environmental education programs focused on the training of technicians and thus be able to replicate the adaptation model in the island community.

Below is a summary of Villa Maya's objectives and actions on which it has focused since 1991, the date on which the reserve was established.
- Conservation of natural resources through knowledge and management of wildlife; With the collaboration of reserve personnel in wildlife monitoring projects, as well as with undergraduate, master's and doctoral students from different universities, who contribute their knowledge derived from field studies and research in the area, Villa Maya is a permanent station for monitoring and studying biodiversity and research in biological sciences, hydrogeology, archaeology, astronomy, anthropology and history.
- Environmental Education Programs, in conjunction with educational institutions, civil associations - NGOs, clubs and the Ecology Subdirectorate of yhe city council, visits and camps for children, youth and adults are planned and developed with themes on the importance of the jungle and the complexity and interrelationship of the communities of the tropical ecosystem insular.
- Nature-oriented tourism, experiences and services are offered for low-density national and foreign visitors exploring the jungle through interpretive trails installed in the tropical forest in the reserve and surrounding areas.
Currently, low-density ecotourism services are offered, open to the public to conduct diplomas, workshops, courses and personal training, holistic experiences, including activities to emancipate the spirit, educate on environmental sustainability issues and promote the ecological culture of the participants, exploring the tropical forest, mangroves, wetlands, the coastal scrub, beaches and coral reefs.
Excursions such as bird watching, hiking, camping, canoeing, cycling and recreational nautical experiences such as free diving and SCUBA diving are promoted.

In addition to visiting archaeological sites around the island and promoting the practice of ancient traditions such as the ceremony of Temazcal and other holistic experiences.
